Camp-In 2012: Butterflies
Growing and changing, all living things do it, but a caterpillar's metamorphosis into a beautiful butterfly is truly amazing! Receive a caterpillar of your own to care for and observe as it transforms into a Painted Lady butterfly!
The butterfly workshop engages participants in watching the life cycle of a butterfly from larvae to adult. It furthers their understanding of the stages of metamorphosis, increases their appreciation of this life form, and helps them recognize that we are part of a larger community of beings on earth.
Overnight and day experiences are perfect for Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, youth groups, and families of all sizes. Camp-in campers explore COSI, make new friends, and participate in super-cool hands-on activities! Reservations for 2012 are now open. Reserve your program now and pay later!
Camp-In Program Assistants
Program Assistants are scouts ages 14 and up who serve as volunteers at Camp-In programs. They assist with workshops, restock supplies, and help our team when we need it most! This is a great chance for scouts to develop leadership experience.

Camp-In Overnight Program
The ultimate indoor camping experience for girls and boys in grades 1-8
COSI’s new season of overnight programs for boys and girls in grades 1-8 (plus adult chaperones) now has available dates from January to May 2012. The Overnight Program starts at 5:00pm and lasts until noon the next day. The fee for the overnight program is $35 and includes:
- Your butterfly workshop will guide you through the metamorphosis of a butterfly from larvae to adult.
- Access to COSI’s Adventure Exhibit the evening of your program only.
- Two-day admission to COSI.
- A movie on COSI's Giant Screen Theater - one of Ohio’s BIGGEST movie screens!
- A souvenir patch.
- A late-night snack and breakfast.
Add a delicious Camp-In dinner to your experience for $7.00 per participant. Dinner includes, pizza, carrots, Oreo cookies, a granola bar, and a drink.

Camp-In Day Program
The ultimate day camp experience for girls and boys in grades K-3
For those that are not quite ready for an overnight experience we offer a Day Program for Daisies, Brownies, Tiger Cub Scouts, youth groups, and families. The program starts at 9:00am and ends at 4:00pm. The fee for the Day Program is $18 and includes:
- Single-day admission to COSI.
- A scheduled movie on COSI’s Giant Screen Theater - one of Ohio's BIGGEST movie screens!
- A souvenir patch.
- Your butterfly workshop will guide you through the metamorphosis of a butterfly from larvae to adult.
Add a delicious Camp-In dinner to your experience for $6 per participant. Lunch includes, pizza, carrots, Oreo cookies, and a drink.
