The tonicity of the image (B) on the right side shows hypertonic tonicity. If plant cells are situated in a hypertonic solution where it contains a higher solute concentration, water will shift from inside to the outside of the cell with subsequent shrinking of the cell or plasmolyzed. This is happening in osmosis.
The tonicity of the image (A) on the left side shows hypotonic tonicity. Tonicity is used by plants to give them a boost in their structural support to maintain its cells in a bloated state (inflated with water). There is a segregation of dissolved solutes in a central vacuole that will cause the solution hypotonic.
